Azanara - Overview

The Central Lands : AZANARA

The continent is a large place, spanning about 3000 km north to south and 6000 km east to west ( but map makers are notoriously inaccurate at this scale, it could well be bigger ).  In addition to the main body of land there are several sizable islands on the continental shelf.

The West
Kingdoms of the Steam Lords. The European nations.
As the name implies most of them have advanced steam power technology.
The big 3 powers are; the Albyon Empire, the Kingdom of Goffnia, the Royal Republic of Parizan. There are several minor kingdoms and city states in the area, including; DwaBof the mountain realm, Queendom of Kaz and kingdom of Hidallga – once united as Catallar, The kingdom of Merconia, The very powerful Lake Towns of Le’Tarrag and La’Vettelle.
Although there are sizable differences in cultural details, they are of one basic type with a common root language. In geographic terms they are isolated from the continental interior by the Ragged Spine Mountains. 

The East
Kingdoms of the Rocket Lords. The Asiatic nations.
As the name implies they have advanced gunpowder technology.
The ZwaYu Empire is the largest nation, twice the size of any other civilized kingdom. Several minor realms exist around it, hardly worth noticing. Off the coast are the Islands of the Samurai Lords, each of the three islands are fiercely independent and generally aggressive.

The South Point
Land of the Giant Lizards. Home of the Sesseyen Ruins.
This very dangerous area has several types of killer reptiles, big and small. It also has marvelous ruins of a once great civilization of Lizard people, based on decorative carvings found. However, the Lizard-men today living in the area are primitive head hunters.

The Sea of Grass
Dominating the central part of the continent is a vast prairie, with some scattered desert and scrub tree forests. Several nomadic races call this area home; the EqueeAvus horse-men, the FelisLior lion-men, and the Human horse riding barbarians, the Nomadar. With in each are numerous clans, acting as small mobile kingdoms. In general the races do not get along and conflict is continuous. For example; the FelisLior see all other creatures, intelligent or not as food or competition for available food. So they are not easy to get along with.

Oger’s Isalnd 
A forbidden place almost no one has ever returned from. It is inhabited by giants, 30 ft tall, who do not welcome any visitors. Myth says they fell from the sky, during a battle between gods.
